- Once the filling thickens, stir in the chopped pecans and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the mixture resembles runny oatmeal.
- Remove the brownies from the oven and pour the pecan pie filling over them, spreading it evenly.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, until the filling is mostly set but slightly jiggles in the center.
- Allow to cool to room temperature before cutting into squares.
Tips for Success
- Ensure the pecan pie filling thickens enough to coat a spoon before adding the pecans.
- Let the brownies cool completely for cleaner cuts and better flavor.

I wonder how many carbs the pecan pie brownie would be. Hubby is diabetic and uses mealtime insulin scanner based on carb counting per meal or snack..
I used a black bean brownie recipe limited sugar uses honey and made a chocolate pecan pie filling. Fingers crossed
Not a recipe for any diabetic, there is enough sugar in the box mix that would kill anyone let alone in the pecan topping.
Then don’t make them.
I so much agree with the comments about the negativity. If you don’t want to make/eat them, then don’t!! I wouldn’t expect any diabetic to eat brownies. I’ve tried the Keto brownies and TO ME, they taste horrible! I will try this recipe when I have company!
rude much
There are lots of sugar few cake/ brownie. KETO mixes out there & PLENTY of sugar replacements, just might need to do search about he had to replace the light corn syrup with, but it can be done, happy eating😊
Find a different recipe and don’t make these.
I made this tonight. The topping turned to carmel. It tastes good, but will try to remove your fillings.
I’m guessing I overcooked it. My question is, did I overcook the filling before putting it on the brownies or after?
Mary Kay M I would say after you put everything in the oven the second time . At least that’s what happens to my pecan pies that I make. I tend to always go longer than the recipe calls for on my pecan pie. I don’t like my filling to be runny . My bunch love the way the pie caramelize on the out side. And they all have great teeth. Lol
I make regular brownies with pecans and after I take them out of oven I squeeze caramel ice cream topping on the brownies. So good and easy!
After I put pecan mixture on brownies I only cooked for 15 minutes. It was perfect but could have done about 13. Keep checking on it.
Way too sweet and way too much sugar. Just make the brownies .
The brownies look delicious, but I can’t make because of the high carbohydrate load.
I make brownies snd after they come out of the oven I add 3-4 bars if Hershey choc. Bar, cover to help the chocolate melt snd spread, it firm’s up when cooled…fast, good and even though that recipe sounds Great…So much Sgar…corn syrup is condensed sugar plus extra sugar…
I too wish they would add nutrition with their recipes.
If you’re looking for nutrition steam some broccoli or bake zucchini bread.
Comments are all about to much this too much that. Don’t read go on why negative.
I agree with last comment…all the negative comments about too much sugar were not needed.. If you don’t like a recipe just move on don’t pick apart a recipe someone else has shared. It looks just yummy and I shared with several friends who also are planning on trying this one. If you fix for guests and just have one piece no harm done having a yummy dessert
Exactly!
Absolutely!! With a name like PECAN PIE BROWNIES…….. That’s enough for all with health issues to keep on passing by.
Should be ok. Should not make any difference.
Looks too good to me to criticize. I’ll save this one for Thanksgiving or Christmas when no one slams sugar or carbs. Thank you for sharing. ❤️❤️
If you are on a low carb diet or diabetic why are you even looking at this recipe. Go to a site with recipes that fit your diet and quit critiquing and changing this one.
I have been diagnosed as diabetic. I eat low carb. I also enjoy a treat occasionally. Having dietary guidelines does not mean I am dead. I look at all recipes. Sometimes trying how to figure out substitutions so I can enjoy them. I don’t make comments about the amount of sugar or how unhealthy a recipe might be. I also don’t tell people to find another site. That is just rude.
Sounds delicious. I’m wondering if I substituted a gluten free brownie mix, but thinking it should work. Always looking for great gluten free recipes for my Dad.
Should be ok. Should not make any difference.
I am gluten-free, and definitely plan to use my favorite gluten-free brownies mix Further, W don’t plan to wait for the holidays!

Diabetics deserve to have a tasty treat too. Just have a small piece and make sure to adjust your insulin. Maybe a Sunday treat. I’d rather have a little of the real thing. If possible.
Thank you for sharing.
Is this printable??
If you cannot provide a print option, I will not be trying your recipes. Very frustrating to get to a site to find out I can’t print it.
